Grave Humor: Funny, Ironic, and Ridiculous Tombstones Paperback – September 28, 2010
by Editors of Family Tree Magazine (Author)
People act like being dead is so serious.
But if you've spent any time in a cemetery, you know a lot of those dearly departed have to be rolling over in their graves–with laughter. This collection of ironic, comic and just plain ridiculous tombstones proves that it's possible to have a sense of humor about kicking the bucket. Just be careful you don't laugh yourself to death.

Biography
I was born a poor miner's son in 1885. Though I died 28 years later, I still get around. Thankfully, I've found a pastime that gives me much comfort in this earthly limbo: making fun of other dead people who possess ludicrous names.
Ever since I acquired my newfangled Leica camera in 1932, it's been a delight to romp around the overgrown graves, uncovering unfortunate names and frightening mourners. Why do I bother mocking the deceased? Because it's hilarious. And because it was this or being strung up in a preparatory school's science classroom.
I hope you enjoy my blog of photographs of dead people's graves. If I hadn't already perished of diphtheria, I would've died laughing.
Signed,
